A Legacy of Safety and Leadership: Greg Sizemore’s Message to Lively’s Faculty

August 8, 2025

Launching the year off right, Lively Technical College had the incredible honor of hosting Greg Sizemore, Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment, and Workforce Development at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National.

With more than 45 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Sizemore brought a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to our faculty and staff. He is a nationally recognized leader in health and safety, workforce development, and industry education. Since joining ABC in 2015, he has led efforts that transformed safety and training practices nationwide—including the STEP Safety Management System, which has helped companies achieve safety rates up to 655% better than the industry average. Mr. Sizemore is also a passionate advocate for total human health, emphasizing mental wellness and suicide prevention in the trades. As a three-term member of OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health, he is shaping the standards that impact millions of workers across the country.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came when he reminded our team:
“If you all are high school grads, no college—you are an encourager. The things you do on this campus, wherever you are, you have the opportunity to teach the work ethics of the next generation.”

We are incredibly thankful for his time, insight, and commitment to the future of workforce education. Thank you, Mr. Sizemore, for pouring into our Lively team and reminding us of the impact we have every single day.
