Nursing Assistant (Articulated)

Program Overview

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Health Science career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of Health Science career cluster.

Admission Requirements

  • 16 years or older
  • Basic Skills Levels: Computation (Math) 10.0 & Communications (Reading and Language Arts) 10.0

Students will be randomly drug tested once enrolled.

Level 2 Background Screening completed and cleared prior to enrollment.

Employment opportunities

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as nursing assistants. Certified nursing assistant have a variety of responsibilities in the medical field, including performing administrative duties, completing basic clinical procedures, transporting patients, and providing assistance to nurses and other healthcare professionals.ย  CNAs may be employed in hospitals, health clinics, nursing and residential care facilities, and home health care agencies.

  • Turning or repositioning bedridden patients
  • Taking patientsโ€™ temperature, blood pressure and other vital signs
  • Answering patient calls
