There’s nothing quite like a cosmetology hair show at Lively Technical College—and this semester’s event proved just how special it is. It’s truly become one of our favorite events at Lively, bringing together creativity, talent, and community in the best way.

From the moment the show began, our freshman class took the audience on a journey through the history of hair, makeup, and fashion. Each look told a story, moving from the bold styles of ancient Egyptian culture to the elegance of the Renaissance, all the way to today’s modern trends. It was creative, educational, and a true reflection of how beauty continues to evolve over time.

Then came the seniors—and they absolutely brought it.

As part of their final projects, each senior created a look that was completely their own. They shared their vision for the kind of salon they hope to work in, what they plan to specialize in, and then brought that vision to life on the runway. With the help of their models, the stage transformed into a vibrant showcase of talent, personality, and passion.

The themes were as fun and diverse as the students themselves—everything from bridal beauty and glamorous showtune-ready wigs inspired by Hairspray, to bold looks from Avatar, western-inspired cowboys and cowgirls with pearls, sleek modern styles, 90s throwbacks, and even intricate braided looks inspired by school-age styles. Every moment felt fresh, creative, and full of life.

More than anything, the night was a celebration—of artistry, of individuality, and of the confidence that comes from finding your craft. You could feel the pride in the room as students showed just how far they’ve come.

Since 2017, this hair show has been a meaningful way to close out each fall and spring semester, and it continues to grow stronger every year. That growth is guided by the dedication and expertise of instructors Vann Haddock, Jolanda Powell, and Clarissa Hines, whose passion for their students is evident in every detail of the show.

Congratulations to our students and staff for putting together such an inspiring evening and for representing the Titan spirit so well. This is what it looks like when talent meets opportunity—and the results speak for themselves.
