Students enrolled in Lively Technical College’s (LTC) Summer 2026 Nails and Facial Programs were given the opportunity to build their dreams through the programs Inaugural Dream Spa Expo on July 22nd, 2026. This event allowed students to work together in groups to design and plan a model for a dream spa. The models were designed by four groups created an opportunity for the students to work together on common goals and problem solving to develop an understanding of what it takes to build a successful business. In addition to the model facility design, students were tasked with making a case for capital investment in their dream spa. To win the competition the student groups had to sell their dream spa concept to a group of event judges.
The instructor for the program, Nicole Johnson Cobb shared her thoughts on the event by saying that she could not be prouder of what our students accomplished during the inaugural Dream Spa Expo. Watching each team transform their vision into a professional spa concept through creativity, collaboration, and dedication was truly inspiring. The level of engagement from our students, along with their confidence in presenting their ideas, exceeded every expectation. She further shared that the energy throughout the event was incredible and the interactive displays and detailed presentations demonstrated by every participant, our students created an experience that captivated our judges, investors, and guests. The overwhelming community support and outstanding turnout made our very first official Dream Spa Expo a tremendous success. The success of the first Dream Spa Expo has set a remarkable standard, and the instructor is excited to see how her next group of students will raise the bar even higher in the fall 2026 class.
