Meeting the Needs of the Health Care Community

Lively Technical College (LTC) is proud to announce the completion of its First Cohort of Professional Nursing (LPN-RN) Program students that culminated during a Pinning Ceremony on July 6th, 2026. This completion of the LPN-RN first program represents a major expansion of LTCs Health Education offerings that are designed to meet the growing needs in the health care industry. The program includes a professional nursing curriculum plan that documents the clinical experience and theoretical instruction in medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric nursing, in acute care, long-term care, and community settings. In addition, it provides theoretical instruction and clinical application in personal, family, and community health concepts; nutrition; human growth and development throughout the life span; body structure and function; interpersonal relationship skills; mental health concepts; pharmacology and administration of medications; legal aspects of practice; as well as interpersonal relationship and leadership skills; professional role and function; and health teaching and counseling skills.

This first Cohort of Professional Nursing (LPN-RN) Program marks a strong beginning for the LTC Health Education programs. Although the program does not provide an Associate Degree; it does allow our graduates to sit for the same NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination) exam as an Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree nurse which leads to the designation of Registered Nurse (RN). It is also important to know that this first cohort produced a 100% pass rate on the HESI exam (developed by Elsevier). This test is a standardized test used by nursing programs to evaluate nursing students’ readiness and strong predictor of NCLEX success. Dr. Tatayana Smith, the lead instructor for the program commented by saying that it is with immense pride and joy that I share a historic milestone for our institution. On July 6th, Lively Technical College officially pinned its very first Professional Registered Nurse (RN) cohort! Twenty incredible, dedicated students have successfully completed our rigorous 52-week program. Over the past year, these individuals have poured countless hours into their lectures, labs, and clinical rotations, demonstrating unwavering resilience, clinical curiosity, and true compassion. They didn’t just meet the high standards of our curriculum—they set the bar for every cohort that will follow in their footsteps. Each student SURPASSED the required score on their Exit HESI Exam. To our inaugural graduating class: Completing a fast-paced, 52-week RN program requires an extraordinary level of grit, sacrifice, and heart. They did it!!
