Program Content / Objectives

The Television Production program prepares students for a range of television, video and film work environments. The curriculum includes communication, leadership, human relations and employability skills; efficient and safe work practices; and preparation to assume entry level responsibility in various areas of television, video, and film production, including: camera operations, lighting technique, sound reinforcement, script writing, and field and studio production.

This program focuses on extensive lab work and broad, transferable skills such as planning, management, technical and product quality, and entrepreneurship.

Successful completion of the four OCPs (occupational completion points) entitles the student to a Vocational Certification as a Television Production Technician.

Students must attend class and programs regularly and demonstrate a good work ethic and willingness to learn in a team environment.
