Program Content / Objectives

The program is designed to prepare the student for employment as an Electrocardiograph Aide/Technician in a medical office, clinic, or hospital.

The content of the course includes but is not limited to:

  • interpretation of monitoring and testing results
  • cardiac wellness and rehabilitation
  • medical terminology
  • anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the cardiovascular system
  • patient care techniques
  • medical instrumentation
  • knowledge of cardiovascular drugs.

Requirements - Students must be eighteen (18) years of age, a TABE score of 9 in math, language, and reading. Students must also have a current CPR certification and immunizations for the duration of the program. A criminal background check and drug screening is required (drug screening will be performed randomly).

Certification Requirements - Program completers are eligible to take the Voluntary Cardiovascular Credential International Test.

Program Length:

  • Electrocardiograph Technician 210 Hours
  • Electrocardiograph Aide 165 Hours
  • Health Science Core 90 Hours
