Program Content / Objectives

Specialized classroom instruction and laboratory practical application trains the student in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment such as motors, motor controls, and power and lighting systems in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Students learn how to locate and correct electrical and equipment malfunctions using electrical test instruments such as the ammeter, and volt-ohmmeter.

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as an electrician’s helper, residential electrician, and commercial electrician.

Graduates Are Qualified To:

Layout and install any phase of commercial electrical construction
Install and perform maintenance on industrial motors and motor controls
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair motor controls and electrical systems
