AYES Can Be the Fast Track For Your Future
Car Dealerships everywhere are looking for technicians they can really count on to get the job done right.
More 230 million cars and trucks are on American roads today, with millions added each year! Sooner or later, they all need to be serviced and that means a demand for skilled technicians typically earning between $30,000 and $60,000 annually. Higher level technicians can earn more!
Professional Growth Opportunities Abound
With the right training and experience, an ambitious employee can become a master technician, a service or parts manager, or assume other positions of responsibility in dealership management. These skills are also in demand for auto technology instructors, insurance adjustors, and repair shop owner/operators.
AYES Leads The Way
Meeting the highest academic and career-preparation standards, AYES schools require their secondary school’s automotive technology program to earn NATEF Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). With first class programs, up-to-date equipment and learning materials, knowledgeable instructors, and full participation in national organizations like SkillsUSA, AYES helps prepare young people to be successful.
As an AYES student, you’ll be earning academic credits for high school graduation. Focusing on the basics that are necessary – math, science, and English – you’ll also spend time in your AYES school’s automotive technology lab, learning the specific scientific concepts behind today’s sophisticated vehicles. You’ll have hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and large-scale diagnostic/repair equipment.
Effective On-The-Job Training
You’ll have a paid, full-time job in the summer between your junior and senior year; and a part-time job after school at a participating dealership. An experienced technician will become your mentor, dedicated to making sure your on-the-job experience is as valuable as your classroom and lab education. You’ll build a variety of technical skills and your employer will help you get started in your career by providing a tool scholarship, which pays for a substantial portion of your starter set of quality tools.
A Future With Career Options
The AYES fast track for your future will be challenging in the classroom and at the dealership, but when you do what you love your experience will definitely pay off.
Upon graduation from high school and receiving your AYES certificate, you’ll be ready for a full-time entry level opportunity as a dealership technician, or, if you choose, you’ll be prepared to pursue additional high tech training in a manufacturer-sponsored program – many of which lead to an associate’s degree from an accredited college.
AYES is an educational initiative of the National Automotive Dealers Association (NADA) with the fourteen largest automotive and light truck manufacturers. For more information on the manufacturers’ support, their post-secondary programs, or the AYES opportunity, contact:
