Getting started is easy. We're happy that in preparation for a rewarding career, your decision led you to Lively Technical Center.  Lively’s administration, faculty and staff are here for you.

To enroll, follow the steps as outlined below.  An application for admission to the Center is not required.  Instead, sign-in with the receptionist in Building 8 and present your picture identification, then:

 

 

Take the TABE

The Florida Department of Education requires that students entering a Workforce Education Certificate Program must have recently taken the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).  Exemptions are made for students who have proof of previous assessment or possess an Associate degree, or higher.

The TABE Test is given Monday and Wednesday only; from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Summer and holiday testing hours will vary.

No appointment is required. Test takers should allow two and one-half to three hours to complete the entire test and plan on an additional 15 minutes more in order to register and pay a fee before the test begins.

The fee for the TABE is $15.00 and is not refundable. A photo ID is required. Registration takes place at the Registration Office in Building 8.

Meet with a Student Services Staff Member:  Review the courses described in this catalog.  Meet with a member of the Student Services staff to learn about program requirements.  Then select your program of study.

Register

Sign Up:  At the conclusion of your meeting, you will be given a signed registration form to present at the Registration Office where you reserve your space in the class by paying your tuition and fees.

Financial Aid

Lively Technical Center financial aid officers are available to help you explore opportunities to make your education affordable.  Financial aid is available for those who qualify.  If you want financial aid assistance, you should begin the financial aid application process as early as possible.

Start Class!!

Lively Technical Center operates on the Quarter System with four nine-week periods.  For most Workforce Education Certificate Programs, a new student may start at the beginning of any quarter.

• Monday - Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Friday 7:45 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
• For the week proceeding each quarter and for the first week of classes, Registration and Student Services will be open from 7:45 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
• Summer and holiday hours may vary and will be posted.
